Terms and Conditions
Nominators and nominees must be individuals, groups or teams that either live - or are based - in Wigan borough, or closely involved in borough activities.
Nominations must be received by 8th January 2010.
Nominations must be supported by a nomination form, which includes:
100-word (maximum) description of why nominees are worthy to be nominated.
Full contact details (contact telephone number, address etc) of both the nominator(s) and the nominee(s) must be included in the application.
Supporting evidence, such as photography, would also be accepted (optional).
By submitting a nomination, as the nominator, you are confirming that you have the nominee’s consent to provide personal data to Wigan Council and its partners.
The judging panel’s decision is final. Award judges will include representatives of Wigan Council and its partners.
Wigan Council reserves the right to refuse nominations.
Wigan Council reserves the right to not award a winner in a certain category, or to amend the categories as the scheme progresses.
Personal information about individual nominees supplied by the judges or discussed between the judges will be treated in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
Self nominations will be accepted.
The same nomination may be made for more than one category.
There is no limitation to the number of nominations an individual or group of people can make.
Nominees may be contacted for publicity purposes by Wigan Council (e.g. Borough Life) or Lancashire Publications (e.g. Leigh Reporter). Nominees have the right to decline.
Details of nominees and winners will be published at wiganlife.com, in local media and Borough Life.
